Beyond Education’s College Advising is designed to walk alongside you during the college application process, making sure students have the tools and support they need to feel confident during this transitional period.
Our founder and CEO, Lara Kilgore, is our resident college advising expert and she has been supporting students through the application process for nearly a decade.

Your high school student has unique goals after graduation, which is why we don’t take a one box fits all approach. Lara works with each high school student and their parents to identify universities and colleges that best fit their individual goals.

Who does the College Advising?
Lara Kilgore, Beyond Education’s founder and owner, is the only person certified to conduct college advising sessions.
How early should we start thinking about the college application process?
Although applications aren’t due till the fall of senior year, it’s best to start thinking about the college application early. There is a lot than can done as early as freshman year so that you’re prepared when the time comes. What is covered in the college advising sessions?
College advising sessions are tailored to the student’s needs. They can include brainstorming and drafting the personal statement and supplemental essays, devising a college list of safety and reach schools, creating a resume, and many other tasks involved with application process.
Is there a limit to how many schools my student can apply to?
No, most students apply to 5-10 universities. For students who apply to more than 10 schools, parents and students should prepare for significantly more time completing applications.
Does Beyond Education help with athletic recruiting for NCAA/NAIA student-athletes?
Athletic recruiting is a special field that requires a unique set of skills, so we partner with independent education partners across the country that focus on athletic recruiting for our student-athlete hopefuls.
